At the local college someone has spray-painted on the sidewalks with a stencil, "All women are beautiful." I understand what they are trying to say. They want to encourage women to love themselves no matter what they look like. They are saying, "Don't let men pressure you into measuring your worth by your appearance." In a way, I agree. I don't think women should spend a lot of money on clothes and cosmetics. I find women who don't shave just about as sexy as women who do. Wear comfortable shoes. I don't believe that it is better to look good than to feel good.
That being said, I do think there are some women who are more beautiful than others. There are lots of women that I think are not beautiful at all. I don't think, "All women are beautiful." I do think all women deserve respect and should be treated the same way I would want to be treated.
